Within the International Week from February 4th to 8th, 2022 Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences will host guests from eleven countries, who will participate in several parallel events throughout the week, including guest lectures and conferences. In total, more than 40 foreign representatives (rectors, researchers, and lecturers) from universities in Europe and abroad will visit Latvia and Valmiera.
In response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) has prepared a package of assistance and support measures for the war refugees: accommodation in the university hotels, as well as study and research places.

Pandemic is a serious challenge to the global education system. Its impact on changes in the study process, adaptation and related problems have been studied by the teaching staff and researchers at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (hereinafter – ViA). Several scientific articles have been published in the book by one of the world’s most prestigious publishing houses, Routledge.
In spring 2020, the marketing team of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences accepted the challenge to test the new marketing approach and pass over the opportunity to create digital content about the university, its study programs, the city, the country, and local environment to the students.
With the motto “Change the future of your region - in only 36 hours!” from September 23 to September 24, international online hackathon “Hack2Change” was held for the first time. In six multinational teams there was an opportunity to find solutions for real life challenges identified by local companies and other stakeholders. Nine participants from Latvia took part in the hackathon.
