Application procedure for full time International students consists of several steps.
The application form must be submitted to apply for studies at the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences.
Applicant must create an account to complete the online application. Online application form can be saved and completed in multiple sessions.
The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Latvian / Russian.
Note! You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally arrive at the university.
Each of the study programs have their own guidelines for the entry requirements (can be found here), however most often, they are the same.
The average grade in the Diploma Supplement should be at least 60% of the maximum possible.
All international students will be interviewed via online meeting by study program committee, video will be recorded and saved for the decision making at the study program admission committee meeting!
To apply for a bachelor's, master's, or PhD program, you need to complete the application form and upload the following documents:
- High school or secondary school education diploma (for Bachelor's degree applicants).
- Bachelor's degree diploma (for Master's degree applicants).
- Master's degree diploma (for PhD applicants).
- Diploma supplement (Transcript of Records).
- Motivation letter (if required).
- Motivational video (if required).
- CV (if required).
- English language proficiency document (not required if previous education was fully conducted in English. Such information should be visible in Diploma supplement).
- Copy of Passport or ID.
- Master's or PhD thesis proposal.
- Proof of application fee payment.
Please note that your application will only be considered complete after you have uploaded all the necessary documents and provided proof of payment for the application fee. The application fee is nonrefundable and does not guarantee acceptance. It must be paid before submitting your application, and confirmation of payment must be included with your application.
Additionally, some students may need to take program-specific online entrance examinations and English language proficiency exams. All international students will be invited for an online interview as part of the application process, which will be recorded for evaluation purposes.

After completing the application process, the applicant will be informed by the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences International Coordinator, who will forward all the attached documents to the study programme director for decision upon admission. Student will be invited for the online interview. If applicant is provisionally accepted, the documents will be sent to Study administration department for submitting to the Academic Information Centre (AIC) for recognition (the estimated duration of the process is 4 to 6 weeks).
After receiving the approval from study programme director and AIC , International Coordinator will send you an official letter if you are eligible to study at your chosen study program.
Further formalities regarding admission process will be organized in collaboration with International Coordinator and Study administration department of ViA.
After completing all the previously mentioned steps, Study administration department in collaboration with International Coordinator, will prepare the Study Agreement, you will receive it from the International Coordinator.
Student will have to Sign the Study Agreement and Pay the Tuition fee for full academic year.
After signing the Study Agreement and paying the tuition fee, if needed, the VISA process will be started.

TUITION FEE
Tuition fee depends on the study program you wish to study. The tuition fee amount can be found under each study program. There you will find the sub-section “Tuition fees and expenses”. The exact amount of the tuition fee per year and the total tuition fee can be found there.
LATVIAN STATE SCHOLARSHIP
All the students that are eligible, are invited to apply for Latvian State Scholarship. Application deadline for academic year 2023/2024 is 1st of April, 2023.
VIDZEME UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants from EU and EEA countries can apply for state funded study placement.
Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences offers scholarships which cover tuition fee for the first year to most outstanding applicants in the programme. The eligibility criteria for scholarship applicants will be examined by Admission Committee. Some of the criteria is academic and professional accomplishments, research activity etc.
OTHER
In some cases, home country offers some scholarships for students that are studying abroad (Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences do not have a list of these countries, students must do a research on their own).
