Jana Moisja, a graduate of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences study programme "Business Administration" explored the topic "Attracting Employees in Latvian Start-ups" in her bachelor's thesis. The author’s aim was to study the tools and techniques of employee recruitment in start-ups in Latvia, and to perform a comparative analysis of Latvian and foreign start-up employee recruitment experience in order to offer solutions to start-ups and the related regulatory authorities in the sphere of employee recruitment.

Since the beginning of the autumn semester last year, doctoral student Mārtiņš Janševskis has been working at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA), thus contributing to the achievement of the goal of the project “Academic Staff and Human Resources Development at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences” –  to involve doctoral students in the academic work of the university and to promote the attraction of new academic staff in the long term.

The development and implementation of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) generational marketing strategy is one of the activities carried out within the project “Next Generation Micro Cities of Europe” and is aimed at attracting determined, active and interested young people to study in technical fields. In addition, it is aimed at the evaluation of the goal, uniqueness and international reputation of ViA Bachelor’s Programme in Information Technologies, technological solutions (EdTech, Educational Technologies) in education, the definition of the target audience and target countries, and the attraction of partner companies, universities and organizations not only in Latvia, but also abroad.

European Universities are transnational alliances of higher education institutions from across the EU that come together for the benefit of students, teachers and society. Today, the European Commission has unveiled the additional 24 European Universities that will join the first 17 alliances of higher education institutions selected already in 2019. With financial support from the Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020 programmes, they enhance the quality, inclusion, digitalisation and attractiveness of European higher education.

The national anthem of Latvia is an integral and important part of the nation, but there is a lack of common understanding of the anthem in the society. Within the study programme “Strategic Communication and Governance” at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, the student Agnese Geduševa explored the national anthem of Latvia as a strategic communication tool from the point of view of the state elite and individuals of the nation.
