Exchange Students at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences in Spring Semester of the Academic Year 2020/2021
In the spring semester of the academic year 2020/2021, six students from France and Spain study at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences in the framework of the exchange program. Students who have arrived at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences acquire the following professions in their countries – computer science, programming, tourism and leisure, business and administration, tourism management, and others.
Ģertrūde Ozoliņa, Head of Student Union’s (ViASA) International direction, comments: “Thanks to the exchange programs, students from Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) have the opportunity to study at other universities as university cooperation is established. This also provides an opportunity for students from abroad to study at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences. The university students, while studying and spending time with exchange students, have the opportunity to make new contacts, get to know other cultures, acquire new experiences, and exchange knowledge. The name of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences is promoted in Europe and in the world. ”
Exchange student Khloja Kasoli who has arrived in Latvia from France and is studying tourism management talks about life in Latvia and studies at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences. "I chose Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences because I wanted to expand my circle of knowledge and improve the specific English language in my chosen profession – tourism management". Khloja comments about her most pleasant memories from studying at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences: "Despite the fact that due to the Covid-19 pandemic many entertainment possibilities are forbidden, I still had the opportunity to get to know the Latvian culture, as well as skate and walk along the banks of the Gauja River."
Exchange students are welcome at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, which participates in two main student exchange programs: Erasmus+ and Nordplus. Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences stands for international experience as an essential and invaluable part of the study process, as well as personality development. Admission of Erasmus+ or other exchange students is based on cooperation agreements with universities and colleges in many different countries.
