European Union Erasmus+ program KA2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices Strategic partnerships for higher education “Simulation Games in Strategic Communication” 2018-1-LV01-KA203-046981

INVITATION

This is to cordially invite you to the online opening of the Handbook “SOCIAL SIMULATIONS IN COMMUNICATION STUDIES: Creating a Simulation Scenario of an Environmental Problem”, on September 21, by 4 p.m.

This handbook has been created for educators who want to unlock and discover the potential of social simulation as an effective learning method for improving students’ transversal skills in blended learning environments. The Book is a joint effort of three Baltic universities: Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (Latvia), University of Tartu (Estonia) and Vilnius University (Lithuania). It provides both theoretical and empirical insights in the exciting world of social simulations, and largely draws on the experience that the authors of the Handbook collected during a 3-year cooperation project and several stages of social simulation scenario development and testing.

In the opening event, we will introduce also four social simulation scenarios that have been developed by the project team and are available online as ready-to-use study materials for every educator who wants to explore the potential of social simulation as a study method.

The Handbook and the social simulation scenarios have been composed in the framework of European Union Erasmus+ program KA2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices Strategic partnerships for higher education project “Simulation Games in Strategic Communication” (SimGames, 2018-1-LV01-KA203-046981).
