Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) hosted the 6th International Week, where lectures and workshops were hosted by visiting lecturers and researchers from India, Albania, Egypt, Ukraine, Lithuania and Estonia, including the activities of the Simulation Games in Strategic Communication (SiMGames) project.

The 6th International Week at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences was devoted to the topic “Simulation Based Learning”, during which foreign lecturers, researchers gave lectures, organized seminars and creative workshops, sharing knowledge on business management, tourism, media, politics and information technologies. The International Week also includde testing of the SimGames social simulation scenarios, designed to develop students' and lecturers transversal skills in communication studies. To prepare for the testing of social simulation scenarios for the Simulation Games in Strategic Communication project, guest lecturers and students went on a field trip to the beekeeping farm.
Student Mariia Zyrianova, from Vilnius University, admitted that initially she thought that simulation testing throughout the day would be enough to get things done. “People need to be communication professionals, although in reality they may not always be able to communicate with others, express their views, find compromise in a situation. From that point of view, the simulation game was a great opportunity to walk into each other's shoes and look at the situation from the perspective of others. ”
The guests also had the opportunity to get acquainted with Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Valmiera City, visit the Valmiera Integrated Library, ViA Knowledge and Technology Center, as well as visit Valmiera City Municipality and meet its representatives.
International Week takes place twice in the academic year - in spring and autumn. The International Week is an ambitious and significant event at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, which enables the exchange of experience and knowledge through meetings, lectures, presentations, discussions and creative workshops for guest lecturers from different countries, students, faculty, students and visitors. During the week, new contacts are established and existing ones are strengthened, and attention is paid to the capacities of each Member State in science, research and studies.
